Over 2000 people benefited from the empowerment by the Pastor incharge of House on the Rock on programme tagged: Project Spread Initiative, in its Elegushi Headquarters church, Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria.

According to one of the recipients, in a chat with allcitynews.ng, "Pastor Paul Adefarasin has been imparting lives of many people around this area by weekly sharing of palliative and provision of skill acquisitions for people."

Addressing the gathering which was made up of men and women without age barrier or religious background all ages, before the commencement of the sharing, in his headquarters church last week, the Cleric reiterated his appeal to well-meaning Nigerians to assist in tackling poverty in the country.

The House on the Rock Pastor Paul Adefarasin who personally shared the bags of the foodstuff, made up of rice, bottle of vegetable oil, pack of frozen chicken, semo/garri to the 2000 beneficiaries said the church had and still  empowering many with employable skills acquisitions.

Similarly, Adefarasin stated that the church is planning to enter into partnership with banks and other corporate bodies for collaboration to reach more people.

"As we are playing our role in alleviating the hunger within and outside the community, we may not be able to reach everyone at the same time, but by brighening the corner with solving problems of the masses, we all will help to spread the good news of the gospel, which includes taking care of the needs of people in and around us. I am appealing to other corporate bodies to do the same in their corners rather than waiting for governments for bailing out the people. Government alone will not be able to reach everyone, but we can play our role by being solutions to the needs of the people around us."

Earlier in his response to questions from  journalists that witnessed the event, Adefarasin said the church has set up various avenues to tackle unemployment by enrolling some people in skill acquisitions centres. Also the empowerment of people, especially women to enable them contribute towards solving mass hunger.

"As part of the move to reach the people, House on the Rock last week,  empowered inmates at the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons in Lagos with tailoring skills, others skills to enable them live profitable life to themselves and to the society, we also empowered people in Mushin, Elegushi, Isale Eko, and Ajegunle.

"At House on the Rock, we believe in building bridges of hope and providing a path forward for all and sundry by preparing them for better tomorrow," he concluded.
