Igogo Festival: Adekanmbi Applauds Olowo's Role in Promoting Owo's Rich Culture

 





A Prominent son of Owo and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Hon. Femi Adekanmbi PhD has paid a glowing tribute to the paramount ruler of Owo Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, on the 2024 Igogo celebration.

In a statement signed on Saturday, Adekanmbi commended the monarch for entrenching the Igogo festival and transforming Owo into a thriving tourist destination.

He said the festival haa showcased Owo Kingdom on the global stage, fostering social cohesion and cultural exchange, boosting the local economy through tourism and commerce, and connecting the community with its rich history and heritage.

Adekanmbi also applauded the monarch for introducing innovative elements to this year's festival, making it even more spectacular. He noted that the display of cultural values will attract investors, promote local artisans, and showcase their crafts.

He described the Igogo festival as a cultural extravaganza that reminds the Owo people of their distinct origin and heritage.

Adekanmbi further emphasized the significance of the festival, saying: "The Igogo festival is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Owo Kingdom. It's a celebration of our history, our traditions, and our people.

"I must commend the Olowo for his tireless efforts in promoting our culture and putting Owo on the map."

Adekanmbi also expressed his gratitude to the monarch for his leadership and vision, saying: "Your Majesty's commitment to the development of Owo Kingdom is truly commendable"

"Your leadership has brought about significant growth and progress to our community, and we are grateful for your dedication."

In conclusion, Adekanmbi wished the monarch, traditional chiefs, and participants a successful and memorable Igogo festival.

"May this year's festival bring us closer together and may our cultural heritage continue to inspire future generations." Adekanmbi stated.
